We’d Like to Introduce Ourselves
Meet Crystal
Whether you're working through a challenging part of life or seeking for a deeper understanding of who you are and where you belong, therapy offers a space to pause, reflect and grow. My approach to holding this space is guided by Indigenous feminism, Relational-Cultural Theory, and art therapy. I believe therapy is relational and shaped by trust, connection, and the relationship we build together. Approaching this work is a collaborative process, and I integrate creative approaches to self-expression and reflection to invite curiosity, deepen insight, and consider new possibilities. Together, we will create and work towards goals that align with your values while honoring your unique experiences, strengths, and ways of knowing.
I am queer and of Native and mixed European descent. Holding multiple identities, I recognize that our sense of belonging is shaped by our relationships, histories, cultures, and the broader systems we navigate. My practice centers on creating space where you can explore identity, connection, and belonging with curiosity and care. I believe our work together can support a deeper understanding of yourself, relationships you have, and the ways in which you move through the world.
I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) and registered art therapist (ATR). My educational background includes studio art, research, psychology and art therapy. My clinical experience includes supporting individuals navigating anxiety, depression, chronic illness, grief and loss, identity exploration, creative blocks, life transitions, end-of-life experiences, caregiving, and experiences related to gender, sexuality, Queer and Trans identities, and BIPOC communities. I value body-affirming, sex-positive centered approaches that honor the multitude of ways people experience themselves and their relationships.
Outside of my role as a therapist, I am also a practicing textile-based artist whose work explores wonder and imagination as relational frameworks of belonging and possibility. Rooted in an environmentally specific practice, my quilts, weavings, and soft sculpture works recognize water as a collaborator and explores how materials and relationships shape the stories we carry and the futures we create. I also love to spend time with my partner and new puppy, exploring Chicago through its food, art, and cultural experiences. These moments of connection shape my studio practice and connect me to the importance of making space for joy.
